Yes, the word is out. The color predicted for 2015 as the "color of the year" is in fact the same name as a type of wine I frequently add to my beef recipes. It is called marsala.<br />
<br />
What do you think about the color? The example above is very opaque and strong. For walls you'd naturally want a lighter shade or to use this one as an accent.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3125742802504181408.post-66549937348489364252011-06-21T09:00:00.002-05:002011-06-21T09:00:05.161-05:00Peace and Tranquility<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://reedlanestudio.blogspot.com/"><img border="0" height="420" i$="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZ4GZTaCnIBmHx_pICMT3JWwj_4_B4NOnpuro60h-YxmqDIGy6ceSwybzS7Vdzgc6gu9naw62_iJYvZoGhAMbeH8JnHdW0FM5b2v63XG0-GPKgO9BUz9o8waLfXBBgfw0msXO4l0tccKJR/s640/Photo+-+C+Myrtle+purple+Reed+Lane+Studio+2011.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div align="center">"The gardener can provide the frame, set up his easel, and sketch the pattern, but as time marches on he must constantly step aside and hand over his brush to Nature. This can be agony, to see all his cherished concepts being so drastically modified by Nature's ruthless fingers, but it can also be ecstasy. As he looks over Nature's shoulder, watching the canvas change, wonderful things are happening. An apparently insignificant curve in a far corner suddenly assumes a dramatic importance, because Nature has decided to make a golden acacia grow at unprecedented speed, stretching out its glittering arms in a gesture that demands an audience."</div><div align="center"><br />

whether due to abuse or poor planning, sometimes nature will reclaim what is hers. We cover her up with stones, concrete, and bricks. Mother Nature gets angry and shows her force ah so slightly. She allows us to use her space and it is our job to take care of it. Here is an example of poor prepping of the land and then the over-use of heavy equipment that simply over-taxed what used to be a beautiful road and previously beautiful open space.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3125742802504181408.post-62149189508819373532011-06-03T10:00:00.007-05:002011-06-03T11:48:03.921-05:00The World Is Changing<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

I do have a tiny yard though so when I do find something new for it...it might mean that I have to rearrange things or swap out a few things to give my garden a new look and make room for the new piece.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjF0hawez2fAwp8SSh9zZlBCh1kC9UCSvOf5S9ALqKz-u90Yj1xgdZPrhT31ggHTGQBdfKFM4e_fXDx-MxdEclgRTzurgSWJsAlBxXqiO5EMn_6c1G4o2QLCIoUGNZGi941gAAygfJVRif8/s1600/photo+-+garden+art+2011.05.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="273" j8="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjF0hawez2fAwp8SSh9zZlBCh1kC9UCSvOf5S9ALqKz-u90Yj1xgdZPrhT31ggHTGQBdfKFM4e_fXDx-MxdEclgRTzurgSWJsAlBxXqiO5EMn_6c1G4o2QLCIoUGNZGi941gAAygfJVRif8/s400/photo+-+garden+art+2011.05.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>This fun little piece of garden art didn't require that I do anything more than place it into a large pot that I already had in the garden. It is such a delightful addition and the little birds look so realistic. I've had this garden art for over a year and the little birds have started to fade a bit. They started out a darker gray color and I've been thinking about painting them so that they more closely resemble a Wren. Really haven't decided though.<br />
